Ariane Baer MS’08, and a former visiting French lecturer at Geneseo, spent six years in Senegal, Africa at an international school in Dakar, as an English and philosophy teacher and vice principal. She returned to visit friends, the country she loves and to see her one-time seventh-graders graduate in July, and took her Scene with her. She also visited the Slave House, which remembers the Senegalese who were taken from their homeland.

Alaskan cruise
Retired English teacher Bonita Fergus Crichton ’71, of Conesus, N.Y. took the trip of a lifetime last summer, driving 168,000 miles to Seattle and taking a cruise in Alaska. She posed with her Scene off the Alaskan shore.

Kyla O'Brien '07, of Sayville, N.Y., poses with her Scene during a “Love in Motion” Medical Mission Trip to El Salvador, where she helped to distribute prescriptions and translate care in Spanish to patients in impoverished villages. The group raises money to bring doctors to provide care to residents who would otherwise never receive it.
